Feeling unsettled or like inspired projects are in a half-formed state? The March full moon in Uttara Phalguni nakshatra provides direction for creativity & healing while encouraging us to find a place of stillness within. It is an exceptionally powerful full moon for seeding our desires.
This month’s moon is an extra potent one for consciously planting intentions. Not only does it fall on the same day as the Spring Equinox, but Uttara Phalguni’s shakti is prosperity through partnerships. The moon also happens to fall in the zodiacal sign of the skilled manifestor, Sidereal Virgo. To magnify these potentials we can perform our favourite rituals & affirmations, & use the mantra to attract supportive partnership provided later in this post.
Uttara Phalguni loves creating win-wins & abundance for us not only in partnerships & business but also in how we manage our own personal development & health. It gifts us with the fruits of our karmas, so consciously choosing what we are seeding in our thoughts & actions is powerful now. Uttara Phalguni is associated with anahata, the heart chakra. Whatever we do or say in the coming weeks, we’re reminded to do so compassionately & with love.
The navamsha reveals a a beautiful continuity with the March new moon in Purvabhadra & encourages us to continue dreaming, to develop the ideas, networks & inspirations we’ve been playing with in recent weeks. Just because we haven’t figured it all out yet is no reason to give up. Continue exploring humanitarian, ecological, esoteric, alternative healing, technological & creative pursuits. Network & connect with others who can help from March 28th. A remedy for creating prosperous partnership is chanting ‘Om cham’, this star’s beej mantra. ‘Cham’ is pronounced like the English ‘chum’.
While Uttara Phalguni loves to be busy bringing people together & moving in a defined direction, rushing ahead generally isn’t recommended this week as there is a lot of transitionary planetary energy in the sky. Mercury continues its retrograde path towards Neptune. Jupiter is in sensitive gandant attempting to resolve karmic issues involving the houses Sagittarius & Pisces rule in our personal charts. Also, Rahu, Ketu, Jupiter, Mars & Venus (Venus hours after the moon peaks) are all sakranti. Sakranti is when planets are changing signs from the 29th to 1st degree. It’s like moving house, our things are in boxes & we’re a bit unsettled.
We may feel like we’re not sure what we need or how to access important resources. Watch out for depletion due to stress & commit to positive changes in daily wellness & nutrition if necessary. Try to do so now as we have an intense year ahead.
Taking direct actions on our goals & signing contracts will give easier results between March 28th when Mercury stations direct & April 10th when Jupiter stations retrograde, though we may still experience challenges getting all the moving parts working in synchrony until early May when Mercury moves into Sidereal Aries.
While this may seem like a dissonant energy to manifest from, it’s works for this full moon as long as we make time to be centered & grounded. Uttara Phalguni is a sthira (fixed) nakshatra that supports intelligent planning, laying foundations, win-win negotiations & generally being busy manifesting our realities while moving in a defined direction.
If we think of archery – which I’ve never done but always wanted to try – we can think of this period as the portion of shooting an arrow where we refine & ground our posture, identify the target, take aim, feel into the launching power of the string, check the direction of the wind & notice what skills & capabilities we need to develop to be accurate & successful in our pursuits.
While progress may not be obvious to someone looking in, we are in fact deep in the creative process & are developing the necessary mental skills & connections that will see us through the growth phase of manifesting our realities in material form.
Enjoy the bright moon of March purnima. May your dreams be fulfilled.
