TRANSIT UPDATE
MERCURY RETROGRADE
Hello Mercury Retrograde, we meet again. Mercury is such an important planet, not only as an indicator of intelligence & communication but because it is the planet of material manifestation and an important indicator for health.
As always Mercury retrograde is an opportunity for reviewing, researching, repairing & refining the areas of life ruled by Gemini & Virgo, setting us up for a clearer path ahead. However this particular cycle has the potential to bring with it more than the usual hiccups. Why now?
Mercury’s recent transit in Sidereal Leo has been powering up our speech and message, making it feel natural to express our authenticity with a dash of charisma and vividness. However the clarity we enjoyed in the early part of the month has become clouded due to last week’s lunar eclipse, Mercury’s Station over the weekend & now, retrograde.
Last week’s eclipse occurred in Sravana nakshatra, creating disruption and sensitivity around transmission of information, especially in hearing and interpreting what is said (including what we say to ourselves). This influence continues strong as the moon wanes over the coming week. Stacked with Mercury changing direction, it can be quite challenging to organize our thoughts and to communicate clearly through this cycle. This is compounded by Mars’ debilitation and combustion which can instigate impatience & emotional frustration, neither of which are conducive to the accuracy and discrimination Mercury prizes.
Yet another element magnifying Mercury issues is that Mercury will be passing over the degree point of next week’s Solar eclipse. The degree point of a solar eclipse is sensitive to transits for at least 6 months after the event, which is one of the reasons we are so powerfully impacted when an eclipse is conjunct an important natal planet or degree in our charts.

In the meantime practice being patient with yourself. You got this! Conscious breathing & breath of fire are excellent for clearing brain fog, as are most yogic activities including meditation. Avoid sugar, alcohol and gluten if you have a sensitivity as Mercury rules Virgo, which responds well to healing body & mind w diet.
