The next 48 hours are signaling an energetic shift as Venus glides into Cancer….

Tomorrow Venus moves to Sidereal Cancer where it will share space with Rahu through 4 July. Ketu & Mars are also bumping up against one another in the first of 3 meetings this summer.

Venus in Cancer is generally a pleasant transit centering around the heart chakra.  Venus & the Moon are both Saumya (gentle) planets & allow us to be clued into what’s going on around us.  Viewing this transit in isolation, it can be a sweet time for our creativity, cooking up a storm, enjoying being a homebody or practicing bhakti yoga. However this year there’s more than the usual intensity w Mars & the nodes aspecting. While the traditional activities associated with these transit are still supported we are more likely to create goals around them or become more impassioned in our involvement.

Nourishing Ourselves

Over the last month some of us have been ignoring or minimizing our natural desires for emotional intimacy &/or personal security due to suppression, feeling unworthy or just being busy with other goals or responsibilities. Now that Venus is with Rahu these needs could make themselves known as cravings for closeness or concerns about our safety (physical, emotional or financial).  The best medicine is prevention through awareness, to not let ourselves go into starvation mode by denying our emotional needs & by taking practical steps to ensure we have some measure of safety & security in our lives. We each have personal strategies for staying emotionally nourished, during this transit maybe spending time with women we trust, participating in creative activities, involving ourselves with non-profits or political causes, giving to charities, spiritual practice or prioritizing radical self-care.

Relationship alert: fascination & mystique

Whenever the nodes are at play it’s wise to expect the unexpected. Passions are running high & if we meet someone they could be quite fascinated with us (or likewise) as Rahu with Venus wreaths relationships in smoky charisma & mystique. This could be a genuinely destined fortuitous encounter or we might be given the opportunity to burn off challenging karmas. Even with physical attraction & that instant ‘click’ that feels so exciting & reassuring, our feelings about them could be inconsistent as the Venus & the Moon can both be fickle. Darker aspects of sexuality may come to expression.

Mars | Ketu aspecting reminds us that many people are struggling with frustration or anger at this time. This may well be because they are doing deep & potentially transformative work around their personal strength & capabilities, which is rarely a cushy process; this could even describe ourselves.

Compassion & awareness are key, as is also knowing when it’s best to remove ourselves from a potentially volatile situation & recommitting to our own unique & immeasurably valuable personal path.
