FEBRUARY WANING MOON
🌕🌖🌗🌘⠀
â €
We are in a deliciously sensitive 2 week waning moon cycle. It began Feb 8/9 w the bright full moon in The Embracing Star, Ashelsha nakshatra. Ashlesha is associated with movement & sensuality, but not just at the physical levels. This cycle supports the relational dance between ourselves & others, & also the internal dance of understanding ourselves more deeply so that we can purify negativity & past hurts from our hearts.â €
✨⠀
The stunning full moon coaxed us into a necessary protected space from which to claim our past, to look at it with eyes wide open & potentially to transmute environmental & personal toxicity into wisdom & compassion.â €
✨⠀
Ultimately, we are invited to succumb to the lure of unapologetically claiming our talents; to make the most of our unique creativity & expressiveness; & to embrace the courage to live authentically.â €
✨⠀
This carries with it some vulnerability, as do most processes of transformation. ⠀
Serpent energy is strong with Ashlesha nakshatra. It is linked to the Nagas – wise & sometimes wiley serpent deities. Subtle & refined, they assist us in accessing our hidden knowledge & inspired intuition, & to transcend our internal poisons. The timeless symbol of a snake shedding its skin applies here, as does the reality that a snake is most vulnerable during this shedding process, which is also when it is most likely to attack. ⠀
✨⠀
Our emotional sensitivity may be high by virtue of where the moon peaked in fullness but also because of the aspect of 3 krura (separative) planets. While the latter can help us use logic & practicality to tune in to the gifts of this cycle, they can also make us overly sensitive or even paranoid. This can even result in a tendency to clinginess (Ashlesha is also called the Clinging Star) or the impulse to lash out using aggressive language. ⠀
✨⠀
The waning moon cycle began in Ashlesha & Magha nakshatras, the 2 stars most likely to take us out of our bodies into astral travels whether via meditation, when accessing alpha states or the waning moon cycle began in Ashlesha & Magha nakshatras, the 2 stars most likely to take us out of our bodies into astral travels whether via meditation, when accessing alpha states or while we are dreaming. As when a snake sheds its skin, states of out of body consciousness leave our physical bodies vulnerable.
✨
Due to the immense sensitivity of this cycle, a vibrationally pure environment & likely time alone are well deserved & in fact necessary if we are experiencing these energies. It is a time to practice firm & boundaries & discernment regarding where & with whom we spend time.
✨
To experience this waning moon energy somatically, practice a period of silence, & listen to what silence & stillness want to communicate. We can also explore undulating the spine & moving the body through spiraling & circling motions. Feel into where the body opens & contracts, how the heart lifts & where the torso stretches & note any subtle messages that are revealed.
